Stephanie James at The Light has agreed to bring our NSPCC fundraiser back for our 7th year on Saturday 10th Dec 2011.
A team of enthusiastic Lindy hop dancers will be performing all afternoon in “The Light“, Leeds, on Saturday, 17th December 2011 to raise money for the NSPCC.
If you’d like to be one of them (or even just help out with the event) get in touch with robert.shield@me.com
With your help we’ve raised over £24,000 for the NSPCC since 2005. Please help us do even more again this Xmas.

Thanks to the effort of all those collecting on the day, we broke our record for monies donated by the general public on the day this year.
Well done to all the performers/collectors & bears!

There are close to 100 performers and volunteers for this years event (which is logistically challenging) so please find some useful info below to help you prepare for the event and help you get the most from the day.
- Try not to party too hard the night before. A day of dancing is much easier with a bit of sleep and no hangover.
- Eat a proper breakfast (not just fruit pastilles/red bull). It’s a demanding day and you’ll need a lot of calories.
- Drink plenty of water the night before and morning of the event. You’re far less likely to be injured performing when well hydrated.
- If you have an NSPCC T-Shirt from last year bring it with you.
- Bring thin layers to wear under your NSPCC T-Shirt to keep warm. You won’t be able to keep ANY jumpers/bags by the dance mats.
- Although performances start around noon we need all the performers present for briefing at 11am on the day.
